We are peacemakers who practice love through Radical Generosity, Transformative Learning, and Creative Service.
Radical Generosity: We cultivate relationships with exceptional partners that are doing creative and just work in the world by funding, encouraging, and celebrating their work.
Transformative Learning: We curate experiences that promote understanding, engagement, and empathy for the world’s biggest problems.
Creative Service: We take action in our community by identifying places of pain, brokenness, and hope in which we seek to act justly with mercy and humility.
WHY WAS PROJECT RENEW STARTED?
The leadership at Denver Community Church have envisioned Project Renew as an opportunity to accelerate and deepen the service and justice work locally and internationally (formerly Serve Denver and Serve Global).
WHAT DOES PROJECT RENEW DO?
Project Renew creates and facilitates pathways for learning, serving, and fundraising for peacemaking work locally and internationally. Locally, these activities look like leading neighborhood walks, forums and panel discussions on critical topics in our city, immigrant detention center visits, or providing micro grants for a specific need in our city. Globally, this looks like facilitating trainings and retreats for indigenous leaders.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE?
We identifying opportunities where a small amount of money makes a big impact in our community. Because of the generosity of Denver Community Church, we are able to keep our staff and overhead costs low (about 15%) and therefore the majority of your gifts will go directly toward our partners and experiences that foster peacemaking. We will also offer targeted funds where 100% of your gifts will go toward direct services, a partner, or a specific need. All gifts are tax deductible.
IS PROJECT RENEW ITS OWN NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION?
Project Renew is an initiative of Denver Community Church (DCC) and they both share the same 501c3. By sharing the same financial and administrative services with DCC, our work goes further by reducing overhead costs.
WHO LEADS PROJECT RENEW?
Project Renew employs a few staff who are dual-employees with Denver Community Church. Project Renew is ultimately overseen and accountable to the Elder Team of Denver Community Church.
